Dr. Jay R. Lucker

Dr. Jay R. Lucker is a certified and licensed audiologist and speech-language pathologist specializing in auditory processing and language processing disorders. Dr. Lucker is also a Professor and Director of the Five-Year Accelerated Master's Degree Program in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Howard University in Washington DC.

Dr. Lucker is an internationally known recognized expert in auditory processing disorders having numerous publications of various topics related to auditory processing and its disorders. He is also a world renowned invited speaker at professional conferences for a variety of professionals and specialists.

Dr. Lucker is an associate with Speech W.I.S.E. of Charlotte providing interpretations and written reports for clients undergoing auditory processing evaluations. He also provides consultations on issues related to auditory and language processing.

    Veronica Pinch - M.S. CCC/SLP

    Roni is the owner of Speech W.I.S.E, Inc. and began her company 16 years ago. She has over 21 years of experience in the hospital, nursing home, home heath, as well as the public and private school settings. She is a North Carolina Licensed, ASHA certified speech-language pathologist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology graduating Magna Cum Laude from WVU. Roni specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorders in partnership with Audiologist Dr. Jay Lucker.
    "Roni" enjoys practicing yoga and most importantly spending time with her husband and their children, Emmi, Owen & Finn.

    Angela Wall - M.S. CCC/SLP

    Angela Wall obtained her B.S. degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated from the University of Alabama with her M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She has more than 22 years of experience providing speech and language therapy in private practice, private schools and daycare settings. Angela has experience working with all ages 1-20 however specializes in speech and language services for the preschool population.
    Angela has been married to her husband, Stan, for 21 years. They have 3 teenage daughters, a miniature schnauzer, and a labradoodle. Between field hockey games, lacrosse games, and volleyball games, Angela enjoy reading, cross stitching, and time at the beach.

    Rachel received her Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Appalachian State University Rachel has worked in a variety of pediatric settings including private practices, home health, and daycares. She is a North Carolina licensed, ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She has eight years experience treating children with receptive and expressive language disorder, articulation and phonological disorders, motor-based speech disorders (apraxia), autism spectrum, auditory processing disorders, cognitive disorders, pragmatic language disorders and feeding She has received specialty training in the Kaufman approach to motor based speech disorders and language development, Sequential Oral Sensory Approach (S.O.S) for feeding, and Linda Mood Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing program for auditory processing disorders.

    Staci received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia and a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Montevallo. Staci has worked in a variety of pediatric settings including public schools, private schools, home health, daycares and private practice. She is a North Carolina licensed, ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She has nine years experience treating children with articulation and phonological disorders, motor-based speech disorders (apraxia), receptive/expressive language disorders, auditory processing disorders, cognitive disorders, and pragmatic language disorders. She has received specialty training in the Kaufman approach to motor based speech disorders and language development.
    Staci has lived in six different states and spent most of her childhood vacationing in the mid-west. Now her favorite place is the beach! Staci enjoys shopping, exercising and spending time with her daughters, husband and friends!

    Meggie Horne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in communication disorders from the University of South Carolina. She earned her masters in Speech Language Pathology from George Washington University. She is a North Carolina licensed, ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist who has worked with children with a variety of communication disorders. She has experience treating children with APD, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, fluency disorders, intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has received specialty training in the Kaufman approach to motor based speech disorders and Picture Exchange Communication System. Meggie loves to travel, cook and read. Meggie is a Charlotte native and loves living in her birth city!

    Jennifer Fitzgerald

    Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ramapo College in New Jersey. Upon moving to North Carolina she attended Cabarrus College of Health Sciences where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. She is an NC licensed and NBCOT certified occupational therapy assistant. She has spent 6 years working in the pediatric and school settings with a focus on sensory processing, motor planning, gross motor and fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills, ocular motor skills; with a passion for executive functioning and fluency training. She has received specialty training in the Therapeutic Listening program. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys taking tap dance class, making jam and spending time with her girls.

    Addy enjoys creating functional and engaging therapy sessions for her pediatric clients. Her professional experience has come in a variety of settings, including schools, daycares, in-home treatment, early intervention, and private practice. She has worked with a variety of populations and treated numerous disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Developmental Delays, Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders, Auditory Processing, Dyslexia, Feeding/Oral Motor Disorders, Articulation & Phonological Disorders. Her interests include crafting, shopping, and spending time with her husband and puppy.

    Melissa Goff, M.S., CCC-SLP

    Melissa is an ASHA-certified, NC & SC licensed speech-language pathologist. She holds a B.A. from Northeastern University and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Sacred Heart University. She is fluent in Spanish. Melissa has served children from toddlers to high school in home, clinic, telehealth, and school-based settings. Melissa is passionate about pediatric therapy and has treated a variety of speech, language, auditory processing and developmental disorders, including articulation delays, language delays, fluency disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, Autism, Down's Syndrome, and other developmental delays. Melissa is also a orofacial myologist specializing and treating Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders of the muscles and functions of the face and mouth. OMDs may affect, directly and/or indirectly, breastfeeding, facial skeletal growth and development, chewing, swallowing, speech, occlusion, temporomandibular joint movement, oral hygiene, stability of orthodontic treatment, facial esthetics, and more. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, fitness, reading, and traveling.

    Ali Grimaldi, MS, OTR/L

    Ali received her undergraduate and masters degree in occupational therapy from Elizabethtown College in PA. She began her career at a level I trauma hospital in the inpatient neuro rehabilitation unit. She gained extensive experience working with patients who sustained brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and multiple traumas. After 5 years, Ali transitioned full time to pediatrics. She has worked with multiple diagnoses, including autism, sensory processing disorder, feeding difficulties, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and other neurological disorders. In her free time, Ali enjoys traveling, spending time with family, friends and her puppy, playing field hockey and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

    Patee Tomsic, OTD, MS, OTR/L

    Patee is a NBCOT certified, licensed occupational therapy practitioner in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. Patee received her bachelor of arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010, her masters of science in occupational therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 2015, and her clinical doctorate in occupational therapy also from MUSC in 2021. Patee began her career as an occupational therapist working with adults in the acute care setting and with children in their natural environment. She then transitioned to working full-time with children in the outpatient setting, gaining experience with a variety of diagnoses and abilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, sensory processing dysfunction, and executive dysfunction, among others. She has additional training on sensory processing, modulation, and self-regulation dysfunction, and executive dysfunction in the pediatric population. Patee is also an assistant professor at the Lenoir-Rhyne University School of Occupational Therapy.
    Patee loves running, spending time at the beach, and cheering on the UNC Tar Heels. She and her husband Matt have a daughter, Winnie Jane, and a four-legged daughter, Bentleigh.

    Meredith Coffey is an experienced SLP who has worked with children of all ages and diagnoses. Originally from the midwest, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Ohio and her master’s degree from Murray State University in Kentucky. What she loves most about being a speech-language pathologist is the opportunity to empower and educate families through speech services to create maximum progress potential. When not working, she enjoys spending time outside, reading, and relaxing with her husband, daughter, and two golden retrievers.

    Amy is an ASHA certified and NC licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She has over 20 years of experience working with preschool and school-age children. She serves clients with a variety of needs including articulation/phonological delays, receptive and expressive language disorders, auditory processing, Autism Spectrum disorders, and other developmental delays and disorders. Amy is a Charlotte native who happily resides in her hometown with her husband, son, and daughter. In her free time she enjoys reading thriller novels, crafting, baking and spending quiet time in the beautiful NC mountains.

    Makenna Hefner M.S. CCC/SLP

    Makenna graduated from West Virginia University with her B.S. in Communication Sciences Disorders and from Marshall University with her M.S. in Communication Disorders. Makenna was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to Charlotte in 2022 to experience life outside of the mountains and hills. She has had experience in a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient pediatrics and adults, pediatric feeding clinics, daycares, and in-home treatment through early intervention. She has treated a variety of populations and disorders, including Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Developmental Delays, Language Disorders, Auditory processing, Articulation & Phonological Disorders, Fluency and Pediatric Feeding/Oral Motor Disorders. Makenna has a well-rounded background working with infants, toddlers, children, and young adults with various communication needs. She is committed to helping your child successfully communicate in all environments. Her passions include treating and assessing the pediatric population and creating engaging activities for her kiddos.     Cheryl Gates M.S. OTR/L

    Cheryl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Counseling Studies and a Master’s of Occupational Therapy degree from East Carolina University. She has experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, fine motor delays, motor planning deficits, Executive Functioning difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Visual Motor/Perceptual skill deficits. Cheryl has a special interest in treating Sensory Processing Disorder, handwriting difficulties and executive functioning difficulties. Cheryl is also certified in Interactive Metronome, Wilbarger Sensory Processing Brushing Protocol, First Strokes Handwriting Program and the Therapeutic Listening Program. Cheryl loves party planning, traveling and creating new adventures with her husband Brad, and two kiddos, Phoebe (6) and Jace (3).

    Gina has been an SLP for over 20 years. She is originally from West Virginia, where she went to WVU and received both her bachelor’s of science and master’s of science degrees. She has treated preschool through high school aged children with a variety of diagnoses in numerous settings. She enjoys finding ways to make her clients feel like their therapy sessions are something they “get to do” and not “have to do”. During her free time, Gina likes reading, making jewelry, and spending time with her husband, Josh, their children, Gia and Santino, and their Samoyed, Nico.

    Brenn Allen COTA

    Brenn attended Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Occupational Therapy Assistant program. It all began for Brenn when completing her fieldwork rotation in a pediatric setting including private practice, preschools and homes. Brenn's passion is helping children obtain and gain the everyday skills they need to be successful in life. Helping children to gain confidence, to become adept with their physical skills and embrace their differences while overcoming their challenges is her goal. For fun, Brenn likes to travel as much as possible, play with her dogs, and spend time with family and friends.

    Kacie Giust, PT, DPT

    Kacie received her undergraduate and graduate degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. She began her career in outpatient orthopedics, treating adults with musculoskeletal injuries. When she moved to NC she began treating children full-time. Kacie has experience treating torticollis/plagiocephaly, autism spectrum disorder, toe-walking, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and orthopedic conditions related to growth. When Kacie is not working she enjoys reading, traveling, going out to eat, and spending time with my husband, son and golden retriever.

    Beth Stephenson M.ED CCC/SLP

    Beth began practicing as a speech pathologist in 1997. She has served children and adults in private practice and has worked in the schools. Having a child of her own with a language disorder, auditory processing and ADHD led to an ongoing curiosity into the root causes and treatment of speech and language delays. She has spent the last few years focusing much of her continuing education studying the neural pathways and the importance of primary reflex integration. Beth enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their doodle. Beth also loves trying new recipes, decorating and planting and arranging flowers.
